Serobia Ayers Gerrin

Serobia Ayers Gerrin, age 84, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at a local care facility.

Mrs. Gerrin was born on April 27, 1928, in Banks County, Georgia, to the late Theo and Belle Chitwood Ayers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Courtney Herod. Mrs. Gerrin was formerly employed with Carwood Manufacturing Company and retired from Yonah Realty with 36 years of service. She was a member of Cornelia Christian Church.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Regina and Joe Pontes, Cornelia, GA and Tawana and Andy Scroggs, Baldwin, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Shirley Ayers, Cornelia, GA; grandchildren and their spouses; Brooke and Eddie Card, Shiloh and Elizabeth Scroggs, and Tyler and Tasha Scroggs; and great-grandchildren, Addie Grace Card, Anna Claire Card, Easton Scroggs, Eli Scroggs, and Elissa Scroggs.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Lamar Christian Church, with David Terrell and Rev. Wayne Marcus officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
