Monteen West Lawrence

Mrs. Monteen West Lawrence, 86 of Gainesville died Saturday December 15, 2012 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Ashburn, Georgia, Mrs. Lawrence had lived in Hall County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late James Harley and Josephine Maddox West. She was employed at Bell South with 42 years of service and was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James H. Lawrence, Gainesville; daughter and fiance, Sundi Lawrence and Jeff Lovell, Gainesville; son-in-law, Christopher P. Hoffman, Sr., Gainesville; grandchildren and spouses, Christopher and Summer Hoffman, Gainesville; Autumn and Chad Savage, Lula; Samantha and Clint Baker, Gainesville; great grandson, Chance Savage, Lula. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Lawrence is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Lawrence Hoffman; brothers, Lloyd West, John West, Newman K. West, Ray West, James West; sisters, Katie Lea West, Ruby Dunagan, Josephine Crook and Blanche Turk.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 18, 2012 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Matthews will officiate. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday December 17, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 3101 Poplar Springs Church Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30507.
