Elizabeth Rebecca Roper Pittman

Elizabeth Rebecca Roper Pittman, age 89 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Park with the Reverend Calvin Haney officiating. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pittman was born on December 4, 1923 in Hall County, Georgia to the late John Allen Roper, Sr. and Cora Lee Kemp Roper. She was in Management at Sears for over 30 years and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pittman is preceded in death by her husband, Claud Pittman.

Mrs. Pittman is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Garry C. and Rhetta Pittman of Duluth, GA; daughter, Carol P. Sawtelle of Gainesville; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Hamilton Coker of Murrayville and brother and sister-in-law, John Allen, Jr. and Hilda Roper of Cumming, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 404 Washington Street NW Gainesville, GA 30501
