Lois Nolin Hughes

Mrs. Lois Nolin Hughes, age 91 of Cumming, GA, passed away, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her home after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her seven children at the time of her death.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Coffee County Alabama and moved to the Cumming area in 1947. She was a long time member of Bethelview United Methodist Church. Her greatest accomplishment was raising seven children born between 1942 and 1952. They were her pride and joy. During her lifetime she was able to visit all 50 states as well as Canada and places in the Caribbean. She was a beautiful and talented lady and will be missed by so many who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wesley Hughes and her first born granddaughter, Cheryl "Lynn" Anderson (9/14/1967 - 5/25/1984). Also her brother Ralph Nolin of Mobile, AL, sisters and brothers-in-law Norma and Joe Maylin, Thelma and Pharoah Senn and Dorothy and Stuart "Scotty" Scott, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Henry and Billie McGinnis, Carey and Frances Hughes, Howard and Vivian Hughes, Ben and Helen Hughes, Sallie and Cornelius Mathison, Nan and Joe Monk, H. B. "Boss" Hughes, Mary Alice Hughes and Hazel Hughes.



She is survived by her seven children and their spouses Wesley E. "Gene" and Brenda Hughes, James and Linda Hughes, Michael and Jimmie Hughes, Nina and Richard Anderson, Marilyn and Donald Stone, Berta Annette "Ann" Hughes, and Henry and Gail Hughes all of the Cumming area. Also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Lucius Whatley of Boca Raton, FL, her brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Frances Nolin of Ashburn GA, her sister-in-law, Mildred Nolin of Mobile, AL, her brother-in-law, Bibb Hughes of Dothan, AL and her sisters-in-law Martha Hughes of Ozark. AL and Dorothy Cooper of Cumming, GA, her Grandchildren and spouses Wesley Hughes, Julie and Chris McCoy, Jeremy and Leslie Hughes, Traci and Chris Shealey, Shelly Anderson, Donna Hays, Susan Stone, Chris Stone, Brian Hughes and fiancé Marie Kruzel, and Blake and Erin Hughes. Great Grandchildren Cooper and Carson McCoy, Taylor and Lauren Shealey, Avery and Camryn Hughes, Rhys Anderson-Hays and Ashton Anderson-Hays, special nieces Glenna Holbrook, Charlotte Phillips and Jackie Bergwall and a host of other nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17th at 2:00 pm at Bethelview United Methodist Church with Rev. Deborah Griffith and Rev. Hess B. Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Bethelview United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm and Monday from 9:00 am until hour of the service.
