Coy Sosebee

Coy "Pa" Sosebee, age 84 of Clarkesville, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at his residence.

Born in Banks County on June 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Tom and Beulah Brown Sosebee. Mr. Sosebee was a member of Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church and was a hardworking sawmiller. He was a strong Christian man who enjoyed picking his guitar. He loved his family unconditionally and was a wonderful "Pa" to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sosebee was also preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Lee Nations Goss Sosebee; sons, Robert Eugene "Gene" Goss, Frank Goss and Randolph Goss; daughters, Linda Faye Goss and Betty Jean Burton; brothers, Otis Thomas Sosebee, Richard Dave Sosebee and Clarence Clyde Sosebee; sisters, Thelma Sosebee, Gertrude English and Maybelle Farmer.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Umbehant of Clarkesville, Ruby Lee Farmer of Cornelia, Mae Jones of Clayton, Frances Free of Alto and Geneva Reece of Clarkesville; 30 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 3:00 pm Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Bill Trotter and Rev. Kenneth Pilcher officiating. Interment will follow in Stonepile Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday.
