Betty Joe Burt Mooney

Mrs. Betty Joe Burt Mooney, age 80, of Dahlonega, GA died Sunday December 9, 2012, at Alzheimer's Care Center in Commerce, GA.

Betty Jo was born in Dawson County, GA, August 4, 1932. She had lived in Lumpkin County for many years. She was retired from the Mohawk Industries Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega and was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Mrs. Mooney was the daughter of the late Ernest Burt and Artie Mae Bearden Burt.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Hershel Mooney, Dahlonega, GA; brother, Charles Burt, Dahlonega; sisters and brother-in-law, Carlene Anderson, Cumming, GA, Freida and Emmett Tally, Dawsonville, GA, Joan Henderson, Dahlonega, and Wanda Mauldin, Cumming. A number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Betty Jo are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Rev. Rodney Pilcher and Rev. Charles Grant will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Monday form 2 PM until 9 PM.
