Bobbie Mitchell Burns Sullivan

Bobbie Mitchell Burns Sullivan, 77, of Carnesville, GA, passed away Sunday morning December 9, 2012, at the Ty Cobb Medical Center, Lavonia, GA.

Born November 9, 1935, in Walker County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lowery and Ludie Mitchell Burns. She was valedictorian for the 1953 class of Oglethorpe County High School and received her BS in Pharmacy from UGA in 1957. She and her husband Dennis, were married July 28, 1957. They established Sullivan's Drugs in 1957. She was a pharmacist, a devoted mother, served as a Girl Scout Leader, served in the PTA, Franklin County Band Boosters, and the Carnesville Women's Club. She was a member of the Carnesville United Methodist Church and had served as organist for 40 years.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Sullivan; two sons, John Sullivan and fiancée Winnie Tuten, Royston, and Jim Sullivan, Birmingham, Alabama; two daughters and son-in-law, Suze Sullivan and Lee and Charlie Hall, both of Lavonia, GA; four grandchildren, Burns Sullivan, Haley Sullivan, Peyton Hall and Callie Hall.

Services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1pm at the Carnesville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lacey Bowcock. Interment will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens North.

The family is at the home. They will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am until 1pm Tuesday prior to the funeral.
