Emmett Sanford Duren

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Emmett Sanford Duren 90 of Commerce who died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.

He was the son of the late Milton Marion and Popie Little Duren and the widower of Cleo Duren. Mr. Duren retired from the City of Atlanta, Ga. after 32 years of service. Survivors include his wife Sara Kesler Duren daughter Beverly ( Jerry) Scott of Commerce Step Son Jones A. ( Charlotte ) Garmon of Jefferson, Step Daughter Betty Jean ( Ernest) Edwards of Commerce, 2 brothers Fred Duren of Auburn, Ga. and D.C. Duren of Lawrenceville. 2 sisters Lillian Cannon of Winder and Peggie Prince of Clermont. Mr. Duren was preceded in death by a step daughter Barbara Edwards and a grandson Emmett Kevin Scott. Also surviving are 13 Grandchildren 23 Great Grandchildren 11 Great Great Grandchildren a number of neices and nephews and a special friend Rickey Cain.

Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2 PM from the Hudson River Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Herbert officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Friday evening from 5 to 9 PM.
