Velvie C. Kirby

Velvie C. Kirby, age 79 of Cumming, passed away, Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years J. C. Kirby of Cumming, children, Clifton and Amy Kirby of Cumming, Ronnie Kirby of Cumming, Nancy and Eugene Langston of Cumming, Fred and Virginia Kirby of Dawsonville, Larry and Janice Kirby of Cumming, Dorothy and Eddie Chester of Cumming; grandchildren, Amanda Kirby, Shelby (Blake) Bennett, Jonathan Kirby, Kevin Kirby, James Chester, Carter Kirby; soon to be great grandson, Nolan Bennett; step-grandchildren, Patrick, Chris and Kevin Langston; 4 step-great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives also survive.


Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7that 2:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Purcell, Rev. James McGaha and Rev. James Samples officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until the hour of the service.
