Myrtle Louise "Dese" Whitmire

Myrtle Louise "Dese" Whitmire, age 93 of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Pennington and Reverend Paul Shadburn officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Whitmire was born on February 27, 1919 in Cumming, GA to the late Ernie Shadburn and the late Carrie Bennett Shadburn. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Whitmire is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cliff Whitmire and her son, Dorsey Whitmire.

Mrs. Whitmire is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Donald Pepper of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Sherri and Dave Galloway of Gainesville; grandson and wife, Todd and Lisa Robson of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Tane and Michael Shannon of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Rita Shadburn of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and H.B. Pennington of Winder; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
