Mrs. Claudine "Dean" Mixon, 78 of Gainesville died Tuesday November 27, 2012 at The Oaks at Limestone.
A life long resident of Hall County, Mrs. Mixon was the daughter of the late Rev. Claude and Bertha Stover Emmett. She worked as a waitress for a number of resturants in Gainesville, like Bob's Old Hickory, L & M Cafeteria and the Busy Resturant, she also owned and operated the Dart Resturant for a number of years. Mrs. Mixon was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; Kathy and Jerry Gilleland, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law; Tony Martin and Elizabeth Gorum, Sautee, grandchildren, Ryan Highfield, Kennesaw; Justin Gilleland, Gainesville; Jessica Gorum, Sautee; Ian T. and Brandi Pike, Scottsboro, Alabama; April Burnette, Gainesville; niece, Patti Garrison, Winder; special cousin, David Browning, Gainesville; great grandchildren, Willow Pike and Shaun Pike, and a host of other friends and relatives.
Mrs. Mixon is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Johnny Thomas Martin and Johnny Mixon, daughter, Karen Denice Wilson, sisters, Jessie Mae Fox, Mattie Lee Mooney, Alice Garrison and Gladys Stephens, brothers, Clarence Emmett, Hubert Emmett and James "Buddy" Emmett.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday November 29, 2012 in the Mason & Ward Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Alan Swafford will officiate. Interment will be in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday November 29, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
