Charles Michael "Chuck" Walker, 50, died suddenly on November 22, 2012.
Born in Jacksonville, Illinois, on May 1, 1962, Chuck is survived by his parents, H. Michael Walker (wife, Kathy) of Peachtree Corners, Georgia and Rosella Blesse Walker of Lawrenceville, Georgia. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three beautiful daughters, Alexis Rae Walker, 20; Ava May Walker, 14; and Ryan Shae Walker, 8 and their mother, Wendy Matassa Walker; brothers, Christopher Joseph Walker and H. Scott Walker (wife, Kelly) and niece Taylor Walker and nephew, Patrick Walker. Chuck was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Margaret Walker and John and Ethel Blesse.
Chuck was a graduate of Sequoyah High School in Doraville and avid Bulldog fan, having graduated from the University of Georgia in 1985 where he was a brother in PKA. He was an avid sports fan, especially the ones that involved his girls.
Chuck worked in the music industry for many years in both retail and wholesale, as well as being a disk jockey. Music was his passion, particularly bluegrass and "old timey" songs. The Kingston Trio, Doc Watson and the Beatles were his favorites. He lovingly worked for years with his friends in Dahlonega at the annual "Bear on the Square" festival and was House Manager of the Mountain Music and Medicine Show at the Holly Theater in Dahlonega with the help of his children.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia. A funeral service and mass will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial fund established for his children with Wells Fargo Bank. Donations may be made to the Chuck Walker Children's Fund.
