Joe Travis Sears

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Joe Travis Sears, age 72, of Danielsville, GA, formerly of Jefferson, GA, who passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012. Mr. Sears was born in Jackson County a son to the late Lloyd and Annie Sue Lockman Sears. Mr. Sears was retired from the GA Dept. of Transportation and was a member of the Community Chapel Baptist Church in Jefferson. Mr. Sears was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Debbie Sears, brothers, Jerry and Roy Sears.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Frances Chandler Sears, Danielsville, daughter, Joann (Fess) Parker, Jefferson, Mary Sears, Dawsonville, Reney (Terrell) Stinchcomb, Homer, stepchildren, Shaprelle and Dan Gunnells, Franklin Co., Stacey Parker, Braselton, Trandum and Sabrina Howington, Jefferson, step son, Gregory and Elaine Howington, Commerce, Hoodie Howington, Commerce, 18 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Community Chapel Baptist Church in Jefferson with Rev Kelby Maxwell officiating. The burial will follow in the Maxwell Cemetery in Nicholson, GA. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Community Chapel Baptist Church from 5-8pm.
