Penny Gail McGuire Lee

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Penny Gail McGuire Lee, age 49 of Cleveland. Mrs. Lee passed away Friday, November 23, 2012.

Mrs. Lee was born on November 30, 1962 to Royce E. McGuire and Nellie Brooks McGuire.

She was a lifetime resident of White County and was of the baptist faith. She served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as an airport firefighter from 1982 until 2003 and was one of the first women to be certified to operate the airport crash trucks. She is preceded in death by her father Royce McGuire.

Survivors include her husband John Lee, Cleveland; son Eric Smith, Chattanooga, TN; daughters Elizabeth Tera Sims, Cleveland, Step daughters Holly Holbrook, Cleveland and Crystal Hawkins, Gillsville, mother Nellie McGuire, Cleveland; brothers Tony McGuire, Buford, Shann McGuire, Carrolton, and Chris McGuire, Cleveland, grandchildren Aundrea Brooklyn Artis, Jaden Hawkins and Jasper Palmer.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday November 26, 2012 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Marc Turner officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday November 25, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
