Thomas Melville Eck

Mr. Thomas Melville "Tom" Eck, age 86, of Dahlonega, GA died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following a brief illness.

Tom was born in Richmond, VA July 14, 1926. He had lived in Dahlonega for the past 15 years and was a former resident of Atlanta. Tom was retired from the Lovable Corporation and was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Dahlonega United Methodist Church and the North GA Barber Shop Singers.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and a son.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol Masters Eck, Dahlonega, GA; children, Thomas M. Eck Jr., Flowery Branch, GA; Bonnie Eck Lovell and her husband, Jimmy, Tampa, FL, Linda Mahler and her husband, Stewart, Cumming, GA; Cara Jones, Chamblee, GA; brother, Robert Eck and his wife, Ann, of Richmond, VA. Four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Dahlonega United Methodist Church.

Rev. Jeff Ross, Rev. Christy Greenwald, and Rev. Ed Dickens will officiate.

Immediately following the funeral service there will be a reception in the Dahlonega United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Interment will follow at 3 PM at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Friday from 12 Noon until 2 PM and 4 PM until 8 PM.
