Joseph Travis Smith

Joseph Travis Smith age 82 of Cleveland passed away Thursday November 22, 2012 at The Oaks@ Scenic View following an extended illness.

Mr. Smith was born in Stephens County the son of the late Rance and Ethel Smith. He was preceded in death by a son, Joey Smith and granddaughter, Jacklynn Ledford. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Mary Ledford, Cleveland, Ralph and Jo Ann Smith, Baldwin; sons, Ira Smith, Baldwin, James Smith, Marvin Smith, both of Clarkesville; daughter and son in law, Janet and Johnny Whitfield, Clarkesville; brother and sister in law, Clifton and Chrystal Smith, Martin; sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Douglas McCurree, Toccoa; sisters, Lucille Harmon, Mary Ruth Hall, both of Toccoa; grandchildren, Anthony Ledford, Brent Ledford, Gordon Galloway, Matthew Smith, Eric Ledford, Sabastion Ledford, Ashleigh Ledford, Kaydence Ledford, Madison Ledford, Kay Lynn Ledford, Tonya Smith, Brandi Hambrick, Kimberly Whitfield, Daniel Smith, Joseph Smith, Jessica Smith; great grandchildren, Tyler Ledford, Elizabeth Ledford, Dawson Galloway, Mackenzie Galloway, Noah Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday November 25, 2012 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Wilkes will officiate. Interment will be in Old Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
