Mary Elizabeth Evans

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Mary Elizabeth Evans, 87, of Commerce who passed away on Tuesday at her residence.

Born in Banks County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Annie Mae Garrison Bolton and was the widow of James Milton Evans. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Thomas Eugene Bolton, Etheleen Bolton Adams and John Calvin Bolton,
Survivors include sons, Harold (Brenda) Evans of Winder and Jeff (Rhonda Monday) Evans of Commerce, grandchildren, Hara (Deric) Sauls, Jennifer (Andy) Carter, Jamie Evans; great grandchildren, Dylan and Eli Sauls, Allison and Anna Carter; a brother, George (Ruth) Bolton of Maysville, sisters, Geraldine Adams of Commerce and Annie "Deedie" (Howard) Turner of Maysville, step-grandchildren, Cassie Monday, Derrek (Ashley), Andrea (Eric) Parr and Tommy Tench and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for Friday at 3 PM from the Homer Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Crabbe officiating. Interment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7-9 PM. Mrs. Evans will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
