Evelyn Thompson Sheffield, 79, of Cumming passed away Monday November 12, 2012 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a brief illness.
Born March 23, 1933 in Cherokee County to the late Millard and Mattie Thompson, she had lived in Cumming since 1997 having moved from Gainesville. A homemaker, Mrs. Sheffield was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Sheffield; son, James M. "Mickey" Sheffield; sister, Janeen Tatum; and a brother, James Thompson.
Surviving are her sons and daughters in law, Ricky and Adriana Sheffield, Cumming, Ronnie and Monica Sheffield, Alto, Steven and Wendy Sheffield, Suwanee; grandchildren, Richard Sheffield, Ryan Sheffield, Christopher Mohalick, Stephanie Vaughn, Tascha Franklin, David Sheffield; six great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 14, 2012 at 3 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 until 8 at the funeral home.
