Stephen Roy Hamlin

Stephen Roy Hamlin, 69, of Flowery Branch passed away on Saturday, October 27, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Steve was born in New Jersey; he graduated from Franklin-Marshall College with a degree in accounting. During the 1960s, Steve served stateside in the Army Reserve and moved to Atlanta in 1969.

In the mid-1980s, Steve started his own tax and accounting business which he continued to run even through his illness. He loved working on British cars and often raced two of his Triumphs at Road Atlanta in the Walter Mitty race series. He was also an avid collector which led to a serious interest in clocks, particularly cuckoo clocks. At any given time, over 60 working and unique cuckoo clocks adorned all levels of his home.

Steve leaves behind his wife of twenty-one years, Claire Hamlin; his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Julie Hamlin; children, Stephen Hamlin, Shawn Hamlin, Stacey Milnichuk, Bambi Owens, Ed Levy, Davida Drake, Josh Levy; sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie Hamlin, Richard Milnichuk, Mark Owens, Beth Levy, Tony Drake, Sandra Levy; grandchildren, Owen and Lilly Hamlin; Maddison, Nicholas, Richard, and Alex Milnichuk; Erika Levy, Jason Hood, Melissa Eaton, Madelyn, Christopher and Taylor Owens; Preston, Cameron and Jameson Drake; and Matthew and Ryan Levy; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Hamilton Mill Chapel at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10th. A short graveside service will follow at the Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens.
