James Willard Burch

Mr. James "Jim" Willard (Bee Man) Burch, 94, of Lula, GA. passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 following a brief illness.



Born in Summerville, he was the son of the late Judson Monroe and Quincie Tabathie Wilkins Burch. He had lived in Hall County for the par 56 years. He was a WWII veteran having served as a medic in the Army. Mr. Burch was wounded during the war but refused the Purple Heart to give it to someone more severely wounded. He was retired from the Times as a composer. He was a member of the American Legion for 67 years.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Judson Wilson (Buster) Burch, sisters, Evelyn Gable, Bertha Justice, Becky Smith and grandson, Michael David Smith.



He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Wilson Burch of Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Johnny Wilson of Caneyville, KY; daughter and Fiancé, Susan Burch Smith and John McNeal of Buford; daughters, Jamie Lee of Lula, Constance Baechler of Berkeley, CA, Brenda Walley of Lula; grandchildren, Robert Smith and Fiancé Amber Johnson, Donald and Cindy Burch, Michael Smith and fiancé Nicole Johnson, Chris and Megan Taylor, Jeremy Lee; great grandchildren, Schuyler, Layla Marie, Chance and Dakota Smith, Eli and Daniel Burch, Trevor and Amy Smith, Layla and Zayne Taylor; great god daughter, Jayla Ann Wheeler; sister, Georgia Wren of Panama City, FL.; special friends, Amy (Red) Dickie, Wayne (Pedro, Nobody) Myers, Harvey Smith Joey Patton and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Barrett will officiate. Interment will follow in Stripling Chapel Cemetery in Carrollton, GA. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
