Charlie Jerry Adams

Charlie "Jerry" Adams, age 54 of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and formerly of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 04, 2012 at the Grand Strand Medical Center following a sudden illness.

A native of Habersham County, Georgia, Jerry was born on December 31, 1957, a son of the late John "Jug" & Lavaughan Martin Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Jewel Adams. Mr. Adams worked in construction for most of his life and was a faithful Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Benton Adams, Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Kim & Kelvin Posten, Alto, GA; sisters and brother-in-laws, Joan & Garvice Thomas, Demorest, GA; Janie & Marvin Wade, Hiawassee, GA; sister-in-laws, Kathy Moreland, Polly Wade, both of Demorest, GA; mother-in-law, Eileen Benton, Myrtle Beach, SC; brother-in-law, Philip Benton, Southern Pines, NC; sister-in-law, Kelly Kletz and brother-in-law, Garry Kletz both of Bloomington, Illinois; grandchildren, Jessie Posten, Chase Coker, Tiffany & Shane Posten, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
