Marcus Sams

Marcus Sams, age 64 of Cumming, GA, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 along with his beloved pet and constant companion, Bella. Marcus was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and was retired from the City of Cumming after 35 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruby Sams; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Marcus was affectionately known as "Gooney" by his loved ones.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Charles Lackey of Dawsonville; twin brother, Jimmy Sams of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in- law, Ethel and Tommy Dodd of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, George and Brenda Sams of Cumming; sister-in-law, Martha Sams and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 11th at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Richard, Rev, Lamar Day and Rev. Nick Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 9:00 until the hour of service.
