Ivan Cecil Stovall

Obituary Date: Saturday, November 3, 2012
Mr. Ivan Cecil Stovall, age 80, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home with Don Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 3:00-6:00 pm, and again on Monday from 1:00 pm until the Funeral Hour.

Mr. Stovall was born on March 22, 1932 in Cleveland, Georgia to the late Paul Henry Stovall and Lucy Allison Stovall.

Mr. Stovall began his career as Secretary and Treasurer of the Gainesville Midland Railroad from 1951 to 1960. He started his accounting-tax practice in 1955, known as Stovall Bookkeeping & Tax Service. He later incorporated and then added his Real Estate practice as Stovall Associates LTD in 1976. He was instrumental in establishing the Book Mobile in Hall County, and served on the Hall County Library Board in the early 1960's. He was also instrumental in the establishment of Gainesville Academy later known as Lakeview Academy.

He is survived by his wife, Ferria Stovall, of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in- law: Vivian and Gilbert D. Martin of Gainesville, Anita Webb of Gainesville, Vickie and Bill Nash of Lawrenceville, Janet Stovall of Gainesville, and Joan and Jason East of Clermont. Grandchildren: Laurie and Tommy Chapman of Braselton, Christina Kelley of Chattanooga, Whitney and Danny Young of Buford, Lance Corporal Anthony Belladonna of Camp Pendleton, CA, Haley Nash of Lawrenceville, Ryan Camp of Tuscaloosa, AL, Melissa Martin of Gainesville, Scott and Nancy Martin of Athens, Taylor East of Winder, and Braelyn East of Winder. Great Grandchildren: Tyler Bailey of Gainesville, Jordan McNeal of Gainesville, Tommy Chapman of Gainesville, and Preston Chapman of Gainesville.

He is the brother of the late Herman Stovall of Gainesville, and survived by sister-in-law Jean Stovall of Gainesville and many nieces and nephews.
