Golda Burt Heard

Golda Burt Heard, 84, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday October 30, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born August 12, 1928 to the late Wiley and Ola Berry, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Golda spent her life dedicated to her family and was employed in several fields during her working life. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde A. Burt and Ed "Boots" Heard; sisters, Yvonne Berry, Melva Mitchell, Audrey Ralston, Ann Swain; and a brother, Odell Berry.

Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Jean and Ivan Bishop, Andalusia, AL; son, Ronald "Buddy" Burt, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Lindsey and Andy Wallace, Tammy Stowers Edwards, Landry Jones; great grandchildren, Anden Wallace, Jenna Claire Wallace, McKale Edwards; special caregivers, Tabitha Jones, Susan Walsh, Monica Powell, Heather Ramey, Christy Wilkie; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Friday November 2, 2012 at 2 o'clock at Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Stephen Davis, Rev. Leonard W. Ridings and Rev. Russell Burt will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
