Sarah Frances Elrod

Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Sarah Frances Elrod age 81 of Commerce who passed away at her residence on Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Elrod was the daughter of the late Jesse L. Richey, Sr. and the late Bertie Martin Richey. She was also predeceased by her husband, Ben T. Elrod. Mrs. Elrod is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lopez of Commerce and son in law, Tony Lopez who was taking care of her during her declining health. A granddaughter, Kristin (Oscar) Diaz, of Nicholson, a grandson, Dustin (Shannon) Dalton, of Stone Mountain, great granddaughters Chloe and Lily-Kate Diaz, two sisters, Faye Smith of Buford and Martha Smith of Commerce along with several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Sarah Frances Elrod will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012, graveside 11AM at Nicholson Cementery with the Rev. Richard Duncan officiating.
