Arnold Lee Franklin

Arnold Lee Franklin, age 71 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Habersham County on October 21, 1941, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Flora Murray Franklin. Mr. Franklin had previously worked for Earnest Perry Construction and he was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, riding horses and chicken farming.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother, J. L. Franklin.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn & Junior Spivey of Hayesville, NC and Lisa & Danny Frye of Turnerville; son, Arnold "Steve" Franklin of Clayton; sons and daughters-in-law, Shane & Teresa Franklin of Turnerville and Shawn & Susanne Franklin of Mt. Airy; son and fiancée, Randy Franklin and Sherry Thompson of Mt. Airy; sister, Christine Broome of Mt. Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian & Earnest Perry and Carolyn & Eugene Perry all of Mt. Airy; Helen & Donald Clark of Toccoa; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Glade Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Michael Justice officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Thursday.
