Wayne Phillip Burrell

Mr. Wayne Phillip Burrell, age 70, of Gainesville, GA, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at his home following an extended illness.

Wayne was a Hayesville, NC native who had lived in the Gainesville area for the past 40 years. Wayne was in insurance sales for 26 years and worked with Chestatee Ford for a number of years in sales. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. He was also a member of Stone Lodge #715 F & AM of Lula.

Wayne was the son of the late Jay and Ruth Foster Burrell and he was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Thomas Burrell; and a sister, Eva Bell Penland.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Burrell, Gainesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jessica Burrell, Homer, GA; daughter, Stacey Green, Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Travis Hulsey, Lula, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Elwanda Burrell, Hayesville, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Bob Warren, Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Rachel Green, Caitlyn Burrell, and Megan Burrell. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Wayne are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Antioch Baptist Church.

Rev. Clifford Allen and Rev. C.B. Martin will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic graveside rites.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Thursday from 5 PM until 9 PM and all day on Friday.
