Shirley Laverne Gearing

Mrs. Shirley Laverne Gearing, age 64, of Nicholson, GA died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Grandview Nursing Home.

Mrs. Gearing was born in Athens to the late Chester and Mary Damron Duncan. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gearing was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Benjamin Gearing.

Mrs. Gearing is survived by her daugthers, Tracy Mallory of Bogart, Shelia Holcombe of Conyers and Pam Riddle of Bishop; son, James Davis of Lexington; sister, Gretta Kinsella of TX; brother, David Duncan of GA; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Friday, October 26 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 5 to 7 PM.
