Rev. Curtis Woods, age 82 of Clarkesville, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012.
Born in Lumpkin County, GA on March 01, 1930, he was a son of the late Miles and Woodie Lee Sisk Woods. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Rev. Woods was the founder and former pastor of Bible Landmark Church in Cornelia where he served for 25 years. He was a pastor and an evangelist for a total of 60 years. Rev. Woods was also a retired school bus driver for Habersham County School System. He enjoyed traveling, playing his guitar, singing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are wife, Barbara Brown Woods of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Phyllis Woods of Dahlonega, Jeff and LaDawn Wood of Dahlonega, Chris and Holly Woods of Clarkesville; sons, Johnny Woods of Dahlonega and Patrick Woods of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Joe Labermayer of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Anita and Shane Thacker of Sparta, TN, Sabrina and Gregg Moore of Clarkesville and Daisy Woods of Clarkesville; brothers, Carson Woods of Dahlonega and J.C. and Betty Wood of Blue Ridge; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Friday, October 26, 2012, at Bethesda Fellowship Church with Rev. John Graham, Rev. Ronald Hooper, Rev. Leon Thompson and Rev. Wayne Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Neal Hadaway and Rev. Carl Hester officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 & 7-9 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
