Margaret Elizabeth Humphrey

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Humphrey age 87 of Gainesville passed away on October 12, 2012 at Dogwood Forest Assisted Living Home following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday October 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Steve Fenlon and Reverend Bill Long will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday October 14, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and Monday October 15, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Mrs. Humphrey was born on June 26, 1925 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Carl Alonzo Mason Sr. and Margaret Sneed Mason. She was a loving mother and a housewife. Elizabeth was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakwood. Elizabeth met her husband, Jim, in Atlanta in early 1946. They were married on December 07, 1946 and started their life together Living in Lakewood Area of Atlanta with her parents. This was the start of the journey she and Jim have together. After the second son was born, Elizabeth and Jim moved to Forest Park, Georgia where they raised their family of 5 children. Then in 1981 they moved to Lake Lanier to continue their Joyful Journey. Elizabeth has 5 children, 8 Grand-Children and 14 Great-Grandchildren. God blessed her family with the way she touched our lives and will be forever blessed by knowing her as "Maw-Maw". She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Carl Mason Jr.

She is survived by her Husband of 65 years, James Garland Humphrey, son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gail Humphrey of Atlanta, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cindy Humphrey of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Hollis Hodge of Concord, Georgia, daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne Flowers and Larry Copeland of Jonesboro, son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Elise Humphrey of Gainesville, grandchildren, Andy and Shannon Humphrey of Cartersville, Adam and Amy Humphrey of McDonough, Jennifer Humphrey of Gainesville, Terry(T.J.) and Teena Humphrey of Gainesville, Jessica Flowers of Jonesboro, Audrea Hodge and Austin Hodge of Concord, Brittany Humphrey and John Davenport of Gainesville, great-grandchildren, Faith Humphrey, Mason Humphrey, Peyton Humphrey, Cole Humphrey, Eric Gillman, Caden Gillman, Kylie Humphrey, Tristan Humphrey, Eli Humphrey, Jayla Burden, Zach Flowers, Zoie Flowers, Hayleigh Davenport, Tyler Davenport. Niece, Pamela and Aaron Jinks, nephew, Mark Mason.

In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Oakwood or the American Liver Foundation.
