Ella Fances Mason Sheppard

Ella Frances Mason Sheppard of Oakwood passed away October 10, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born in Albany Ga, Mrs. Sheppard was the daughter of Julius Irvin Mason and Patsy Arnold Mason. She attended Albany High School, Georgia State College for Women and received her Masters from the University of Georgia. Locally she taught in the Gainesville City School System at Fair Street and retired after 32 years of teaching from Hall County School system having taught at Riverbend and Flowery Branch Elementary Schools.

She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Georgia Retired Educators and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to the Gainesville Hall County Senior Center and especially enjoyed mentoring students at Lula Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Durion Miller Sheppard. She is survived by her three children and spouses, David and Margaret Sheppard of Monticello, Ga., Jeff and Becky Sheppard of Gainesville, Ga., and Randy and Pat Sheppard of Oakwood, Ga., a brother and spouse, James and Helen Mason of Irmo, SC., eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday October 12, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville at 3:30p.m. There will be a visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday October 11 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
