Catherine Pierce Gibbs

Catherine Pierce Gibbs passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.

Catharine is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mary Otwell Pierce; husband, Lonnie Gibbs; sisters, Mary Richards, Peggy Edwards and Gladys Boyd.



Catharine is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jo Purcell, Gainesville; Deke and Marie Richards, Gainesville; Beth and Phil Sutton, Flowery Branch; and Michael Richards, Gainesville.



She is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.



Catharine was a lifelong resident of Gainesville. She worked for the Gainesville City School system for 30 years. She was also a member of First Baptist Church.

Catharine's family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice and the ICU North Tower at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their care and kindness.



Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Wilson and Rev. Bruce Fields will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
