Shirley Anne Paul Hiatt

Obituary Date: Monday, October 8, 2012

Mrs. Shirley Anne Paul Hiatt, 77, of Toccoa, died Monday, October 8, 2012, at Stephens County Hospital.

Born November 18, 1934 in Mount Airy, NC, she was a daughter of the late James Howard and Clara Davis Paul, and was the widow of Elbert Leland Hiatt.

Mrs. Hiatt was a homemaker, a member of The First Baptist Church and was a resident of The Clary Center. The family wishes to express a special "Thank You" to The Clary Center and staff for the wonderful care their mother received.


Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dave Palmer of Toccoa; a son, Leland Hiatt of Martin and his fiancé, Bambi Harbin of Hartwell; grandsons, Matt Hiatt of Tampa, Fl., Spencer Palmer, Josh Palmer and Mark Palmer, all of Toccoa; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Thursday, October 11, 2012 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. David Ritcey officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The follow gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Matt Hiatt, T. Dale Twilley, Spencer Palmer, Josh Palmer, Mark Palmer and Rev. John Thomas.

The Birthday Club friends, Betty and Bob Troup, Leroy and Lila Couch, Helen and Wayne Payne and Joann Agnew will serve as honorary.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:30 pm this Wednesday at the mortuary.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Troop 217 Boy Scouts of America c/o of The Toccoa First Baptist Church.
