Rev. Edward Newton Cundiff

The Rev. Edward Newton Cundiff of Alto died Oct. 3 after a long and earnest battle against cancer. He was 61.

Ed was ordained an Episcopal deacon in 2004 in the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, and he has spent the last four years serving the White County community.

A memorial mass will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Church of the Resurrection, Sautee, where he served. The church is located at 1755 Duncan Bridge Rd., Sautee, GA 30571. Interment of ashes will be in the church's columbarium. Assistant Bishop Keith B. Whitmore will preside.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Church of the Resurrection.
