Lillie Ruth Whitfield Stewart

Lillie Ruth Whitfield Stewart, age 85, of Oakwood, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, following an extended illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Anderson Stewart; her mother, Cora Mae Welchel Whitfield; her father, Joseph Benjamin Whitfield; her brother, Jesse Ray Whitfield, Sr.; and her sister, Ida Belle Whitfield.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Suzie Stewart, James and Amy Stewart, and David and Melissa Stewart; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Dola Whitfield Seay and Inez Whitfield Allen; sister-in-law, Mary Evelyn Whitfield; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 3:00 p.m., at Memorial Park Funeral Home North. Rev. Paul Evans will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
