Mr. Devin Tyler Durden, age 21, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Rev. James O. Langston; paternal grandmother, Josie S. Durden; and paternal uncle, Randall Eugene Durden. He is survived by his parents, Gene and Cherie Durden, Buford, GA; sister, Danielle Durden; brothers, Christian Durden and Coby Durden; maternal grandmother, Margaret Langston, Buford, GA; paternal grandfather, Eugene Durden, Silverstreet, SC; aunts and uncles, Sherri and David Simmons, North Augusta, SC and Ann and Johnnie Ward, Brunswick, GA; uncle, Jim Langston, Taylorsville, NC; and several cousins.
Devin Durden was born January 7, 1991 in Thomasville, GA. He was a 2009 graduate of Buford High School where he played on the 2008 and 2009 State Championship football team and received the two State Championship rings and was a key player. He was a student at the Air Force Academy stationed in Colorado Springs, CO where he played on the Air Force Falcons football team. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford. Devin was a cherished son, beloved brother and grandson, great teammate and an honorable cadet.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Buford with Rev. Reese Fauscett, Rev. Wayne Johnson, Coach Dexter Wood and Mr. Stuart Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA with military honors.
