Mary Elizabeth Demore Ivester

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Demore Ivester, age 94, of Clarkesville, will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Turnerville. Rev. Hal Cason will officiate with interment to follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Ivester died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her residence.

Born in Habersham County on June 24, 1918, Mrs. Ivester was the daughter of the late William and Clifford Cross Demore. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs Ivester is preceded in death by husband Dee Cee Ivester, son Horace C. Ivester, sisters Gladys McNeely and Mildred Demore, and brothers Harold Demore and Louis Demore.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Annette and George Gibson of Clarkesville, son and daughter-in-law Billy Ray and Florence Ivester of Clarkesville, daughter-in-law Darlene Ivester of Clarkesville, granddaughters Sherrie Swift, Sharman Kirby, and Cindy Smith, grandson Tom Ivester, as well as eight great grandchildren. She was the last member of her immediate family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
