Jerry A. Hallford

Mr. Jerry A. Hallford, age 81 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 following an extended illness.

Born on December 07, 1930, Mr. Hallford was a son of the late James Robert & Myrtle Hightower Hallford. He was a live-long resident of Habersham County, Georgia and was retired after many years with Clarkesville Mill. Mr. Hallford enjoyed gardening, fishing, and meeting with the "Breakfast Bunch" at various restaurants. He attended Habersham Baptist Church and the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hallford was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Hallford, sister and brother-in-law, Lucille & Jake Church, brothers, Loy Hallford, Hughie Hallford, Clarence "Poon" Hallford, Jimmy Hallford and a sister-in-law, Sarah Hallford.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Ballew Hallford, Demorest, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Tracie & Paul Irby, Flowery Branch, GA; son, Baird Hallford, son and daughter-in-law, Randall & Cindy Hallford, all of Demorest, GA; brother, Willie Hallford, Clarkesville, GA; brothers and sister-in-laws, Raymond & Lorraine Hallford, Edward & Mildred Hallford, all of Demorest, GA; sister-in-laws, Ping Hallford, Demorest, GA; Louise Hallford, Majell Hallford, both of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Lew & Jennifer N. Hallford, Demorest, GA; Megan & Cris Gomez, Bogart, GA; Caroline Irby, Christopher Irby, both of Flowery Branch, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Addisyn & Ayden Hallford, both of Demorest, GA; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 02, 2012 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire and the Rev. Russ Barker officiating. Interment will follow in the Habersham Cemetery in Demorest.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
