Lucille Roberts Carson

Funeral Services for Lucille Roberts Carson, age 86, of Clarkesville, Georgia, will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Carson passed away at her home on September 25 after a brief illness.

Born in Habersham County, Mrs. Carson was the daughter of the late James Augustus Roberts and Beatrice Church Roberts. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sherry Rebecca Carson; sister, Irene Roberts Humphries; brothers, Fred Roberts, Otis Roberts, R.B. Roberts, and George Roberts.

Mrs. Carson is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jay Carson of Clarkesville; son, James Carson of Sautee; daughter, Carol Carson of Clarkesville; and granddaughter, Caitlyn Carson of Athens; sister-in-law, Virginia Roberts of Clermont and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carson was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was active in the Adult Choir, Church Flower Ministry and Women's Missionary Union. After working at Piedmont Automotives for many years, her love of cooking led her into the catering business. She enjoyed camping with her husband where they met many lifelong friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
