Barbara Jean Hicks

Mrs. Barbara Jean Hicks, age 84, of Dahlonega, GA, died Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Mrs. Hicks was an Anderson, SC native who had lived in Lumpkin County since 1980. She was a former Hall County resident, a retired textile worker, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA.

Mrs. Hicks was the daughter of the late Harrison and Minnie Potts Franks and was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Horace Hicks.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Larry Lingerfelt, Dahlonega, GA, Cindy Hicks Long, Dahlonega, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Marion and Laura Hicks, Dahlonega, GA.; sister, Eloise Elliott, Anderson, SC. 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hicks are scheduled for 12 Noon Monday, September 24, 2012, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Jammie Fortner will officiate.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Sunday from 4 PM until 9 PM.
