Elsa Roberta Cowper Goode

On Friday morning September 21,2012, Mrs. Elsa Roberta Cowper Goode,95, went home to be with the Lord. Known as "Goody" by those who knew her best, Elsa was loved deeply and will be dearly missed.

Goody was preceded in death by her parents, George Milton Cowper and Emma Smith Cowper, and her son, Howard Goode. Goody is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sammie McNeal, grand daughters, Nadine Barnett, and Shani Anderson, great grandchildren, Lucy Barnett, and Ross and Kye Anderson, and also great, great grandchildren, Mason and Leah Anderson.

Goody was born in Kent, England on June 3,1917. She arrived in the United States in 1963. She served as nanny for many families over the years traveling around the world. She also worked for Peter Pulitzer on his yacht which was captured by pirates. Goody loved to enthrall us with the stories from this adventure. Goody also spent many years working in the food service industry. She worked for several years at the former DownTowner Restaurant in Gainesville. Goody retired from Peeches in 2000 at the age of 83. Goody's loving humor and great wit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held by family at a later date.
