Lemuel Thay Pruitt

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Lemuel Thay Pruitt, age 77 of Clarkesville. Mr. Pruitt passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 following a period of declining health.

Services are scheduled for Saturday September 22, 2012 at 3 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bobby Brown and Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday September 21, 2012 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Mr. Pruitt was born August 19, 1935 in Dawsonville to the late Ore Pruitt and Inez English Pruitt. For several years, he owned and operated Mud Creek Grocery and was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his sister Pat Smith.
Survivors include his wife Judy Pruitt of Clarkesville, sons and daughter-in-laws Jeff and Suzanne Pruitt, Buford; Mike and Cindy Pruitt, Cumming; son Scott Pruitt, Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Frank Freeman, Gainesville; step children Margaret Harkins, Cleveland; Martha Nichols, Cleveland; Sylvia Tench, Mt. Airy; Patricia Farmer, Clermont; Brad Farmer, Dawsonville; Joe Farmer, Norcross; and Jeff Farmer, Norcross; sister Evelyn and Allen Roper, Gainesville; as well as 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Flowers will be acknowledged or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
