John William Grizzle

Obituary Date: Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012 Corinth Baptist Church for John William Grizzle, 92, of Gainesville. Rev. Henry Loggins will officiate. Interment will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
A lifetime resident of Hall County, he was born on September 21, 1919, the son of the late James H. and Lilly Dora Smith Grizzle. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was self employed as a mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Scott Grizzle; sisters, Estelle Seay, Louise Grizzle; brothers, Kelice Grizzle, Frank Grizzle and Charlie Grizzle, D.C. Grizzle.

He is survived by his daughters, Diann Odom of Blue Ridge, Patricia Haynie of Bethlehem; daughters and sons in law, Kathy Grizzle and Marty Collins of Jefferson, Marie and Brett Donaldson of Cleveland; granddaughters, Lynda Kay Kimsey, Sheila Lynn Byrd, Amanda Kay Blount; grandsons, Barry Wayne Nix, Billy Dewayne Nix, Stephen Wayne Haynie and Thomas W. Donaldson; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters and brothers in law, Geraldine and Woody Dunmire of Seattle, WA, Linda and J. Donald Smith of Gainesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Ellen Grizzle of Ft. Valley, GA, Junior and Olla Mae Grizzle of Gainesville and a number if nieces and nephews.
