Helen Nuzum

Mrs. Helen Nuzum, age 95, of Gainesville, GA passed away Monday, September 17, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Walter E. Nuzum. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Carol Magee, Kansas City, MO, Jean E. and Terry Cowgill, Lawrenceville, GA and Janet and Grayson Upchurch, Gainesville, GA; six grandchildren, Douglas Magee, Andy Magee, Karin Duran, David Cowgill, Jami Awalt and Grayson Upchurch, Jr.; and eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. Nuzum was born February 20, 1917 in Akron, OH. She was a graduate of West Fairmont High School and attended Fairmont State College. She was a homemaker and a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Carpenter Ford Funeral Home in Fairmont, West Virginia. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Fairmont.

The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA on Wednesday evening, September 19 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family would like to give special thanks for the wonderful care to Halcyon Hospice and to the staff of Morningside Assisted Living in Gainesville, GA where she was a resident for the past eighteen months.
