Mr. Henry Johnson Brown, Jr., "Papa Brown" age 82, of Toccoa, died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at his home. Born June 18, 1930 in Toccoa, he was a son of the late Henry Johnson, Sr., and Vinnie Dean Brown.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a devoted husband, daddy and papa. Mr. Brown was a U. S. Army Korean War Veteran.
Family members include daughters, Deb Woody and Lynn Roberts; son, Randy Brown; grandchildren, Jennifer Cannon, Casey and Cathy Roberts, Lacey Roberts, Cody Brown, Hope Brown, Holly Brown, and Ashley Woody; sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine and Douglas Collins, Jean Brown, Brenda and Jay Sprouse, Gayle Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Earnesteen Brown; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Nell Cheek Brown; two brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at Four o'clock Sunday, September 9, 2012 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Ricky McFarlin and the Rev. Roy Bainey officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Childress officiating at the graveside service.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Casey Roberts, Clarence Roberts, Roger McFarlin, Mitchell Shedd, Kevin Cannon, and Gary Moore.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5 pm - 8 pm Saturday, September 8, 2012.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Eva Gail Mincey, Natalie Irvin, Tugaloo Home Health, and their hospice staff.
