John H. (JD) Kitchens

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for John H. (JD) Kitchens, 84, of Hull who passed away early Thursday morning at his residence.

Born in Franklin Co., GA, he was the son of the late Hoyt and Myrtie Nation Kitchens. He was married to Annie Mae Booth Cowart Kitchens of the residence.

Other survivors include children, Sandra (Dale) Ray of Nicholson, Robert (Dorothy) Kitchens and Junior (Elizabeth) Kitchens, both of Hull and Kenneth (Kathy) Cowart of Commerce; siblings, Ethelene Brock of Braselton, Johnnie Jarrard of Toccoa, Eula Mae Clark of Lexington, Lutrelle Booth of Hull, L.B. Kitchens of Commerce, Gartrelle Kitchens of Jefferson and Howard Kitchens of Alto; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11 AM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Lee and Rev. Ron Glaze officiating. Interment will follow in the Nicholson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9 PM and at other times at the residence located at 3593 Neece-Commerce Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home on behalf of funeral expenses for Mr. Kitchens.
