Mrs. Lillian (Jones) Turner, age 80, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, August 31, 2012 at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The Reverend Darryl Womack, Reverend Terry Rice and Reverend Robert Kersh will officiate. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turner was a native to Hall County, born on December 16, 1931, the daughter of the late Dewey Jones and Thelma (Bell) Jones. She was the oldest living member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. She was retired from Food Lion. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence C. Turner; and a brother Harold Jones.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Freida and Bill Phillips of Lula; Lynn and Monroe Allison, Sr. of Clermont; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Cece Turner of Auburn, GA; daughter, Suzanne Turner of Gainesville; grandchildren, Rena and Tim Kinsey, Cindy and Matt Lacey, Jeremy and Emily Allison, Amanda and Ben Razevich, Monroe Allison, Jr., Bethany Turner, Thomas Turner, Adam Sweet and Eric Sweet; 10 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and James Gravitt of Gainesville; sister, Marge Sitter of Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Catherine Jones of Sarasota, FL; Alma Turner of Gainesville; Gladys Turner also of Gainesville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon and Joyce Turner of Flowery Branch; sisters-in-law, Ione Nix of Cleveland; Helen O'Kelley of Gainesville; and Beatrice Bernier of Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center 2150 Limestone Parkway Gainesville, GA 30501.
