Rudy Jacob Pietz, 80, of Gainesville, Ga. passed into the spiritual world Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at home surrounded by family.
Memorial services to be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Ga. on Aug. 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.. Burial will take place in Carmine Cemetery in Texas.
Rudy was born in Carmine, Texas on Sept. 4, 1931 to Rudolph and Hertha (Jacob) Pietz, both of German decent. On April 22, 1970 he was joined in holy matrimony to Consuelo Dominguez.
Rudy had a career in management with the food division of RJ Reynolds and Delmonte Foods and in later years he worked for the US Treasury Department.
He had many interests in life. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and loved playing poker, pool, dominos, reading, crossword puzzles and was always ready to take a spin on the dance floor with his beautiful wife. He was also a proud member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for over 50 years.
Rudy was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he loved and cared for his family deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Consuelo of Gainesville, Ga.; two daughters, Julia Ford and husband Robert, of Cumming, Ga. and Arlene Harms of Augusta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kristin Leavoy, Jacob Harms, Jessica Harms and Alanna Ford; three great-grandchildren, Ellen Harms, Abigail Leavoy and the newest member of the family due to be born in October.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Hertha and his brother Clinton Pietz of Carmine, Texas.
Ingram Funeral Home will facilitate service arrangements in Georgia and two other memorial services will be held in San Antonio and Carmine, Texas - dates and locations to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the BPO Elks of the USA or Ebenezer Methodist Church in Cumming, Ga.
