James Ricky Padgett

James Ricky Padgett, age 62, of Cumming, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012.

Ricky worked in law enforcement for 37 years and retired from the Roswell Police Department in 2010. He is preceded in death by his father, James Ralph Padgett and his daughter, Cynthia Leigh Padgett.


Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Padgett of Cumming; grandchildren, Jeremy Simmons of Cumming, Barry Carter, Jr. of Tallapoosa, Nikki Carter of Tallapoosa; son-in-law, Barry Carter of Tallapoosa; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Cindy Padgett of Cumming; niece, Mandy Padgett Warren of Cumming; nephew, Morgan Padgett of Cumming; aunt, Betty Payne of Cumming and a number of great aunts, uncles and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Jerry Padgett, Judge Maurice Hillard, Judge Charles Smith and Rev. Robbie Mattis officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 6 to 9p.m., and Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
