LB Honea

LB Honea, age 83 of Cumming, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012, after a period of declining health.


Mr. Honea was a life-long resident of Forsyth County. He served his country in the Korean War, being stationed in Germany. He retired from Lockheed Aircraft, Inc. after 38 years of service. He was an avid farmer and gardener, which he enjoyed working in until shortly before his death. He was member of Concord Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buell and Leona Honea, and his sister, Mrs. Dorothy H. Smith.



Mr. Honea is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Eulene Silver Honea, of Cumming, children and spouses, Randy and Susan Honea of Cumming, Deloris and Wendell Bagwell of Gainesville, Sandra and Wayne Benefield, Kim and Debbie Honea, all of Cumming. Grandchildren and spouses, Alison B. and Terry Jack Smith, Randy Honea, Jr. and fiancé Amanda Lilly, Joshua and Christin Bagwell, Lauren H. and Tim Jackson, Dusty and Danielle Benefield, and Mary Beth Benefield. Great-Grand Children, Olivia and Sawyer Smith, and Layla and Haley Jackson. Sister, Sarah H. Hood of Gainesville, Brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Noell Honea, of Cumming, and a number of nieces and nephews.



The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to staff of Embracing Hospice of Cumming for their loving and care during our father's stay.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11th at 3:00 pm at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Byrd, Rev. Danny Bennett and Dr. Lester Cooper officiating. Remains will be placed in state at the Church at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until hour of service.
